It has been over seventy years since Bella married Edward and became a vampire. Their daughter, Renesmee, stopped aging, appearing to be around the age of fifteen or sixteen. The family has moved back to Forks after staying in Alaska for some time to attend the high school again, this time, with Renesmee as one of the Cullens. Nearly everyone Bella had once known is dead.
It has been hard on Renesmee and Jacob. The shape-shifters have not aged at all, due to a spike in vampires around Forks and the reservation, and Renesmee and Jacob have been seeing each other since Jacob imprinted. The vampire activity has begun to worry the Cullens, if the newcomers get out of control, it will give the Volturi an excuse to check up on the growing coven. They have already started making frequent visits to the Cullens since the birth of the half human half vampire. Their interest in Renesmee as well as Bella’s developing shield has not faded. With all of the abilities the Cullens have on their side, the are seen as a growing threat to the Volturi.
Life continues for the vampires and shape-shifters. Both packs are growing, and have found that after imprinting, their partner, after a while, also becomes a shape-shifter. So far, Renesmee has been the only exception to that rule. With the vampires, and even Renesmee forbidden on the reservation and the protective nature of her parents, the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee is strained.
