General Behavior
1. While we are happy to accept people who are still in need of improvement, we expect you to be familiar with the basics of roleplay etiquette and know what types of behavior are not acceptable, such as godmoding.
2. Some mature content is accepted, but no topics are to exceed a PG-13 rating. If you have a question about the suitability of a post, contact Headmistress Chant.
3. Respect staff and fellow members, and bring any disagreements to a staff member for resolution. We want this board to be friendly and welcoming.
4. You may have one character per account, and your account name should be your characters' first and last name.
5. There is no limit to the number of accounts you are allowed to make, and we don't necessarily need to know who owns which accounts. However, they are all independently held to the activity standard; if any account is inactive for one month, it runs the risk of being deleted.
6. We do not enforce a post length, but this should be a place where we all try to improve our skills.
7. Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation are required.
8. If a roleplay topic is more than one page long, you must post a message asking if you can join. Please respect post order so no one gets left behind.
9. If you kill your character or let them die, they are not coming back to life. You may continue to play them as a ghost, but that's it.
10. If you want to roleplay a pregnancy, it will play out in real time and your character will be pregnant for nine months. Using coins and dice, the staff will determine the gender, whether or not it is twins/triplets/etc and whether or not it has inherited a parent's special ability if applicable. This is to prevent an imbalance of multiple births and superbabies.
11. Please do not invent spells, especially when dueling with other players. Go <a href="http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_spells">here to see what spells you can use.
12. Disobeying these rules may result in a warning. Three warnings may result in a ban. Severe disobedience may result in an immediate ban at the staff's discretion.
Character Creation Rules
1. We accept canon applications and very sparing applications for original relations to canons, but only those that would conceivably have gone through the books without being mentioned. This means no Potter siblings, no Snape nieces or nephews, and so on; these characters are accepted or denied at the staff's discretion. A person applying for an original relation of a canon should have a good activity level and advanced roleplaying skills.
2. Special abilities and ancestries are also accepted on a limited basis. Check the special abilities page to see what spots are available.
3. Special or powerful items must be approved by an administrator as well. You may not join with Invisibility cloaks, magical maps, or anything like that already in your possession. There may be a way for some characters to eventually earn them.
4. You cannot join with a magical pet. At Hogwarts, only rats, toads, cats, and owls are accepted. If you are not at Hogwarts, you still can only join with a normal animal. As with the previous rule, there are ways you can acquire a more interesting familiar later on.
5. Your character is not invincible or in possession of unnatural immunities. Be realistic about their level of magical power, especially if you are playing a young character.
