A brisk walk was just what Levyne needed. He had Laurent writing his letters to his sister, so he no longer had to stay cooped up inside trying to compose some elaborate excuse for information about his life. There was a reason he didn't want to tell his sister about. But he really didn't know how to tell her about that part of his life without feeling completely naked and ashamed, so he would rather he exempt that part of himself from that shame.
With an unhappy saunter, he looked upwards towards the leaves as they swayed in the wind. They looked rather sad on the branches. He was perfectly happy and had unobstructed thoughts until he reached a rather tall tree with one single leaf on it. And then he thought, oh merlin. I need to get that leaf off that tree.
He didn't know why, and he couldn't explain the urge- maybe it was undiscovered obsessive complusive disorder, who knew. He padded his midnight blue coat and finally found the inner hidden pocket he kept his wand in. With a quick flick of his wrist he said, "Accio leaf!", pointing in the direction.
As the leaf began floating downwards towards him, he said a rather sarcastic, "Woooo!" as if he had accomplished something great.

There was always lots of work to do at Hogwarts, so it was rare for Kyrie to feel like she could get away from her desk. This was her first year as Headmistress, and whether she imagined it or not, it seemed like everyone had a critical eye on her every move. But this was her favorite time of year, and she had stayed up till two in the morning the previous night, grading parchments and reorganizing old student records. She felt like she deserved a short break.
Carrying a book under her arm, Kyrie stopped by the kitchens for a mug of peppermint tea and then made her way out to the gardens. Once there, she gravitated to her favorite spot: a bench near the center of the gardens, by the trunk of a towering oak. There was one leaf clinging to its nearly-naked branches, but that wasn't the kind of thing Kyrie noticed...until Levyne came by. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a blue-clad figure approach and glanced up. She was about to say something when she noticed his gaze fixed on the final leaf. Curious, the headmistress watched him stare at it intently, then finally summon the leaf down to him. A small smile came to her face.
"Did you...need that for something?"

"Uh, yes." The leaf fell close to his head, and started to slip off the side of his hair before he reached up and grabbed it, then stared at it for a moment. "To do this I guess," He said quietly, and let it fall to the ground from his hand with a gentle slide.
"Not really anything special, I just wanted to cause it to fall. Being the last leaf and all. It...was seductive." Realizing how odd that sounded, and wanting her to not think he was attracted to a leaf, he added, "In a I want to make it fall way, not in a sexual forcing myself on nature way...I mean, I'm not a tree hugger. Not that there's anything wrong with tree huggers...I love the muggle-hippie era. Bell bottoms are neat."
It took him a moment to realize he was babbling, and he promptly fell quiet, staring at the Headmistress. What was it about Kyrie that made him nervous? Was it the superiority? The power? Or was she just that attractive to him? He really did fancy her appearance, but liking older women was not something he advertised on a daily basis.
"So why are you out here? I see you're enjoying a cup of somethin'."

Blinking, Kyrie looked up at him as he explained himself. She opened her mouth and closed it again, unsure of how to answer his odd little monologue. Finally, a small smile crossed her face. That certainly hadn't been an answer she expected. She decided to leave his comments alone, as he seemed embarrassed although Kyrie couldn't guess why. Instead, she stuck to the safer question of why she was out here.
"Only taking a break." She paused, then felt the need to defend herself so it didn't seem like she was wasting time. "Beginning a new term is such hard work- updating rosters, checking the defensive spells...I had to get away for just a moment. And you? How are your classes coming along? I'd love to visit some time, if that would be possible. "
Kyrie took a sparing sip from her cup, looked at Levyne over its rim. She was still getting used to acquainting herself with professors, and was never sure how friendly a Hogwarts head was supposed to get.

"Oh yeah, sure...I just brought up a deal with someone from the pub that they'd bring in his chimaera for one of my classes to see - not really sure which one but it's great either way, I think they'll like it," He tried acting casual, but he found himself putting his arms up around himself as if he was trying to hug himself in front of Kyrie. It seriously wasn't intentional, he wasn't like a serial self-huggest, but he did just now. With an odd pause, he followed it with the sudden injection to the silence,
"The guy isn't like shady or anything. Well, I don't know, he might be but I swear, he looked like a nice guy but it could have been the lighting. He may or may not have had a third eye. I don't know. But I like chimaeras, they're cute."
Does that sound feminine? He wondered, but decided to leave it at that. The worst she could think was that he fancied the men-folk from his last comment, but he doubted she was into masculine men...or was she? Was he acting cool or...? He lowered his arms so he had them crossed instead of in an insecure position.
